"Drop a nuclear warhead?" "No." At that moment, Yuji raised her hand. "Yes Yuji." "They were going to drop a Colony on us." Several kids chuckled aloud at the remark. "Actually, Yuji is right." The laughter stopped as it seemed that everyone's attention was attracted. "The original plan of Operation Meteor was to drop a Colony on Earth. Then, while panic swept the planet, they were going to send the most powerful mobile suit in all of history to seize complete control. The mobile suits were called Gundams. If you open your text books to page 131, you will be able to see the first picture ever made of one of the Gundams." The room was filled with books opening and the riffling of pages. Mia's eyes widen as she stared at the picture of the mobile suit standing on a sinking ship. The arm was extended, and ripping into the smoke stack of the ship. The picture was taken from an aerial view. "Who were the pilots?" Someone near the back asked. "No one really knows. The Gundams are the greatest mystery of this war. Though their original purpose was to take over the Earth Sphere, by time the war ended, they had played the most crucial part of brining peace between Earth and Space." "One mobile suit did all that?" Jess asked in disbelief. "No. Not one. When the war started, there were five. . .as it continued, two more appeared." With this said, the bell rang. Mia collected her belongings and stuffed them in her bag. "Hey, what are you doing later on tonight?" Jess asked as she stood in front of Mia's desk. "Not sure yet. Sam says that he has a surprise in store. . .and he won't tell me what it is." "About that surprise." Sam stated and the three of them walked into the hall. "I'm really sorry, but I have to cancel it." "Why? What's wrong?" "My mom got called in on an emergency. I have to take Kelly to the circus tonight." "Can't she go some other time?" Jess wondered aloud. "My mom has been promising her for the pass two weeks that she would take her. Tonight was the only night that she had available, and so bought tickets and everything. Now she can't go and Kelly is throwing a fit." "Aww. . .poor girl." Mia sympathized. "I know you have a fear of the circus Mia, so I won't drag you to go." Mia stepped into the barn to find Heero doing push ups while Trowa was sitting cross legged on his back reading. She snickered to herself at the scene. It was times like these that made her wonder if Trowa was really a boyfriend or a personal weight. "No wonder you can't pin me in wrestling Trowa." Mia teased as she stopped in front of the two men. "You're letting Heero do all the work. Now you get down there and do as many push ups with Heero on your back. Or at least put on a few pounds so he can get a good work out. It's pretty bad when I can wear your clothes." She teased and sat down next to the Latin. "That better Heero?" She started to slide off when Heero encouraged her to stay. She was a little amazed to find that the Japanese man was doing push ups as easily with both of them on him as when only Trowa was there. "How was school?" The Latin asked, closing his book and tossing it to a nearby table. "That reminds me. Can I ask you something Heero?" "Yeah." "Are you related to the Heero Yuy that was assassinated?" "No." "We started talking about the Gundams today." Both men were silent as Heero finished his reps. "I'm sure you guys kept up on the events of the war. As much as you watch the news now, you had to have back then. How many Gundams were there originally? Do you know?" "Five." Trowa answered and slid off of Heero's back. Mia followed suit and Heero climbed to his feet to pull on his shirt. "That's it?" "Near the end of the war, two more were created." "Where are they now?" "The Gundams have been destroyed." Heero assured and studied the girl. "Why do you guys sound so depressed about it?" "Let's just say that the war wasn't the best part of our lives." She looked from Heero to Trowa and back again. "Why not? Is that how you became orphans?" "Yeah." Suddenly, she felt uncomfortable. Somehow she knew that neither of them wanted to talk about the past, and she didn't want to pry. So, instead, she turned and prepared to leave. "Mia, if you have more questions, you can ask." Heero informed; knowing that there was more that she wanted to learn. She stopped and looked over at the Japanese man. "I don't know why, but I feel drawn into the topic of this war. I would appreciate if you would tell me everything you know about it." "I should have. Then I wouldn't have to put up with your big mouth!" Duo snapped and slammed the front door behind him. As he turned to step off the porch, he was a little surprised to find Wu Fei standing on the last stoop. "Well, if it isn't the ghost of Christmas past. What's shakin?" "I need you to come with me." "Where?" "I can't really say." At that moment, the front door opened to reveal a petite blonde haired woman. "And one more thing. . ." She stopped as she noticed Wu Fei standing on the steps. Her blue eyes narrowed in disapproval. "WHO THE HELL IS THAT?!?" "Let's go." Duo encouraged and jumped down the stairs. He snatched Wu Fei's upper arm and pulled the Chinese man to the car parked out front. "Damn you Duo, this is the last time you'll cheat on me!" The woman screamed as she disappeared behind the door and reemerged with a shotgun in her hand. Wu Fei's eyes widen in surprise as Duo revved the engine to life and sped down the street. A single shot was fired; completely shattering the back window of the Thunderbird. "What the hell was that?" Wu Fei questioned as Duo spun around the corner as quickly as possible on a side street. "That was my old lady. Doesn't matter where we're going as long as it's away from her." "What happened with Hilde?" "Found herself a rich guy and got married. They own a condo in Malibu last I heard. I'd love to tell him where he can shove his condo." The American griped as Wu Fei told him to enter the interstate. "Where we going any ways?" "Kansas." "Kansas? What the hell is in Kansas aside from corn?" "Heero, Trowa, and Amelia." "No shit? They're country hicks now?" "Yeah. They inherited a farm from an old woman that died a year ago. I'm assuming they stayed with her for quite some time as farm hands." "Perfect job for someone that doesn't want to be found." Duo laughed inwardly. "I'm guessing you figured out the secret behind Mia?" "Mia is an experimental test tube baby. She was suppose to be raised as the perfect assassin to take over where Heero left off. Her speed, strength, and intelligence is at extreme levels. We recently learned that she may possess telekinesis as well. The only thing that can contain this ability is the extremely slight amount of radiation that is given off by yellow Gundamium." "So why would they want her now? She's too old to start training." "Yes. . .but she's not too old to have children." "Huh?" "It's possible that they would want Heero too." "I'm lost. Stop, and run that by me again." "They want to use Mia's eggs to make more test tube babies." "So why would they want Heero?" "Heero's her father." Duo nearly swerved off the road. Once he got to the shoulder, he turned off the ignition and stared at Wu Fei. "WHAT???" "Mia is a test tube baby that was created with a sperm sample that Dr. J had left over from Heero's training. The reason that only Mia was created before was because they only had one sperm. . .but now that both Mia and Heero are together, they could very well capture both of them and create a small army of super humans." Duo's jaw dropped. "Why would anyone want that?" "Why wouldn't they?" "Do you know who's after them?" "As of now, it's a race between three separate
groups. First, there's the Preventers. . .Dr. J, who wants to continue
with his experiments. . .and the last one is the research center that
was funding Dr. J's project. It's the research center that's the most
dangerous and vicious."
